If the session is a gift, work backward from the occasion: weddings, anniversaries, and deployments all have hard dates, and album production adds time after the gallery is finalized, so build in a few weeks of cushion. Booking the session itself well ahead of the deadline also buys you the best choice of dates and, frankly, a calmer experience — a rushed boudoir session defeats its own purpose.
