Kansas City professional headshots that work as hard as you do

Your headshot gets judged in about a tenth of a second — by recruiters, clients, and everyone who Googles you. Our Kansas City headshot photographers specialize in exactly this frame: honest, confident, current, and lit like you mean it.

Individual headshots

A headshot session is short, directed, and surprisingly painless. Your photographer coaches expression and posture shot by shot — jaw out, slight lean, real smile versus polite smile — and you review frames as you go, so you leave knowing you got the shot. Sessions cover multiple looks (backdrop changes, jacket on/off) and deliver retouched, high-resolution files sized for LinkedIn, company bios, and print.

Building a broader personal brand? A full portrait session adds environmental and editorial looks beyond the classic crop.

Team and company headshots

For teams, we bring the studio to your office: consistent backdrop, consistent light, and a schedule that moves people through in minutes each, from five employees to a hundred and fifty. New hires get matching setups later so your website never drifts out of sync. Team headshots often pair naturally with commercial photography — office culture candids, workspace shots, and leadership portraits in one visit.

Studio, office, or outdoors

Classic studio headshots read timeless and corporate-safe. On-location sessions in your office add context; outdoor natural-light headshots skew approachable and creative — realtors, therapists, and founders tend to love them. All three cost the same to book, and turnaround is fast because we know headshots are usually needed yesterday. Check tiers on the packages page, or book a session directly.

What to wear on camera (and how retouching is handled)

Wear solid, mid-tone colors that contrast with the backdrop — jewel tones and navy are reliable; bright white, busy patterns, and logo-wear are not. Necklines matter more than brands on a tight crop, layers like jackets and blazers add structure, and anything that needs constant adjusting will show it. Bring a second option; the change takes thirty seconds and doubles your usable looks.

On retouching: the standard is 'you on your best day' — stray hairs, temporary blemishes, and lint are removed, while the features that make you recognizable stay untouched. A headshot that no longer looks like the person who walks into the meeting has failed at its one job, and our headshot specialists edit accordingly.

How often should a headshot be updated?

The working rule is every two to three years, or immediately after any change a client would notice in person — new glasses, a significantly different haircut, a career pivot into a new industry with different visual norms. The real test is simpler: if someone meeting you off your LinkedIn photo would need a beat to recognize you, the headshot has expired. Refreshes are quick sessions, which is exactly why they're the easiest professional maintenance task to keep current — and the most commonly neglected one.
